Candace Woliver, OTR has been an occupational therapist for 14 years, she has worked primarily in outpatient therapy but also has experience in acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, burns at an accredited burn center, NICU, school-based therapy, and has recently taught as an adjunct professor for an OTA program at a nationally ranked community college. Candace has always loved creating and working with her hands and found her niche with splinting and orthotics at the start of her professional career originally as a Burn Therapist. She combined her love for OT, splinting, and providing services as a school-based therapist and discovered a new passion working to create and implement assistive technology. While working for the school system, Candace was a member of the district’s assistive technology assessment and implementation team. During this time, she presented regularly district-wide, as well as at the state level at Texas Assistive Technology Network State Conference. Candace currently works closely with orthopedic specialists making custom splints for the upper extremities weekly. She provides additional specialized splinting/orthotics for common neurological needs/injuries and even uses her splinting skills to provide custom adaptive equipment and assistive technology options when able. When not working, Candace loves to travel and spend time with her family and dogs.
