The Brain – Body Connection: Practical Applications for Regulation | December 6, 2025
Explore the senses and how they can be used to help ground, calm, and stimulate the mind to help clients achieve optimal brain states and succeed within the highest level of executive functioning. This course is presented by Occupational Therapist Candace Woliver along with Licensed Professional Counselor Sarah Cabler discussing the overlap in brain and body connections. This course will discuss the science and practical application of using sensory integration techniques and information learned within mental health sectors and in counseling settings.
Objectives:
1.Participants will be able to list the roles that all senses play in sensory integration and levels of neurological arousal with special focus on vestibular and proprioceptive input.
2. Participants will be able to apply the “Brain States” model as developed by Dr. Becky Bailey and use this information to identify and meet targeted needs in each state, helping problem solve and regulate emotions.
3. Participants will be able to utilize practical applications of sensory integration techniques within counseling settings with clients for regulation of body and neurological processing moving into the executive brain state.
