The Ethics of Client Onboarding, Retention, and Discharge | November 8, 2025
This course will take a look at the ethical issues that can arise in client recruitment, retention, and discharge. We will discuss Ways to avoid ethical pitfalls while building/maintaining client caseloads, keeping client welfare at the forefront.
Objectives:
Participants will identify 3 common ethical violations that arise as a component of client recruitment, retention and/or discharge.
Participants will analyze the potential impact of unethical recruitment, retention and/or discharge on clients and the counseling profession.
Participants will be able to apply strategies for compassionate and ethical discharge and referral of clients.
